Hudud law

i`m suddenly interested to post this article written by mdnorhafiz in the Star online.
maybe it can be a motivation or can be a n understanding to us how hudud law are applied and how it works.

Currently, I'm living in one country which practiced hudud. Yes, you can call these people are barbaric and uncivilized.

But the thing I love the most here is less of crime. The difference of criminal rate is much lesser compare to my Malaysia due to implementation of Hudud. Everyday in Malaysia newspaper, we can read rape, murder, snatch thief, burglary cases. If every editor practices to compile such news together, I bet it will occupy at least 2 pages in our daily newspapers. I admit there are such cases occurred in my place here but very very rare.

I still remember some times ago, UMNO leaders claimed this law will cause a lot of Muslims in Malaysia lose their hands or legs which later can dampen the growth of national economics. Ironically, my “adopted country” now achieves tremendous growth with Hudud implementation (Of course alongside of petrodollar. Yet, petrodollar alone cannot drive the economics if without stability). Its hard for me to see their people on the street without hands or legs. Why? Because this people become afraid to commit crime.

The purpose of Hudud law is not punishing yet to teach other people to become a good citizen.

PEOPLE MAY SAID THIS LAW IS INHUMANE DUE TO STONING PEOPLE OR CHOPPING HANDS. BUT HOW ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE WHO MERCILESSLY KILLING, STEALING OR EVEN SNATCH HANDBAGS AND DRAG THE VICTIMS TILL COMA IN THE HOSPITALS. THESE CONVICTS ARE MORE INHUMANE THAN THE LAW ITSELF.

Please take note that the basic principle of every Islamic law is to compelled or enforced on Muslims only. I hope PAS will stick to this principle.

With implementation of hudud law, maybe Altantuya, Canny Ong, or Sharlinie still breathing today.
